Growing Together in 2017

During 2017, Graceworks at Home experienced amazing growth with a 16% increase in the personal care side of the business — easily blowing the goal of 5% out of the water. Serving clients that need skilled and personal care services, Graceworks at Home is ready to expand in the greater Miami Valley region, specifically Preble County. The area is underserved and in need of skilled services. “It’s a very competitive business,” explains Graceworks at Home administrator Bonnie Smith. “There are nearly 100 home health agencies in the Dayton area. People choose us because we’re faith-based. They want to work with us because we’re faith-based. We are one of the very few faith-based homecare companies. That is very important to the people that want to work for us. They want to know that we walk the walk… and we do.” “It’s also the commitment to Faithful Caring,” adds Robyn Nelson, Graceworks at Home manager. “Our quality is a step up. I think we definitely try harder. We may not be the biggest homecare company, but we like to say we’re the best. I think that shows in the staff and how they treat our clients.” Some of the organization’s explosive growth is the result of referrals, both for new and repeat clients and also for potential staff looking for new opportunities with Graceworks at Home. “I think our standards are higher and our clients expect a lot out of us. In turn, we expect a lot out of our staff. But it goes both ways. We take good care of our staff. The staff satisfaction level is very high,” explains Nelson. On the skilled side of the business, Graceworks at Home has enjoyed a whopping 46% growth in staff. Many of those people came to us seeking a new position based on reputation.

In 2017, Graceworks at Home scored big on report cards and ratings, outpacing Ohio and national averages in numerous categories. “We’ve earned a four-star quality and five-star customer satisfaction rating,” said Graceworks at Home administrator Bonnie Smith, proudly. Just to name a few categories, Graceworks at Home scored higher than Ohio averages and national averages on: – Giving care in a professional way (92% vs. 87% vs. 88%) – How well the team communicates with patients (89% vs. 84% vs. 85%) – Rating of overall care (90% vs. 83% vs. 84%) In the end, the success of the program is built on the brand and reputation of Bethany Village. “From a personal care standpoint, it’s easier because we were providing personal care services as part of Bethany before we were a formal homecare agency,” said Robyn Nelson, Graceworks at Home manager. “It has just evolved and grown. We are riding on the foundation of Bethany Village and the quality of care provided with the continuum. It’s an automatic extension of what we do. We’re providing this wonderful service on campus and now we can carry it to those who need help right into their homes.” Smith agrees, adding that “…the Bethany name has been out there a long time. Clients are willing to give Graceworks at Home a chance to see if we can live up to the Bethany name and we do.”
