Activities Energize Residents

As seniors age, there are a host of forces pulling on them to slow down. They’re not as physically agile. They lose lifelong friends and family. They simply have less energy. But the team at Bethany Village fights those forces every day, offering residents a wide array of social activities from baking to boxing. In 2017 alone, nearly 8,000 events were organized! All community members are encouraged to stay active physically, mentally, and socially. When Barbara moved to Bethany from North Carolina and her sister-in-law Maureen joined her from Maine, they found no shortage of options available to help them enjoy there lives to the fullest.

Construction Begins on Crescent Crossing

During 2017, Bethany Village said goodbye to a few older sections of campus to make way for Crescent Crossing, a new assisted living building. Arbor assisted living, the auditorium and a few offices were lost when the building was torn down at the end of July. Before the tracked excavator could begin work, Graceworks President and CEO Bill Serr, along with Centerville Mayor Brooks Compton and the Graceworks Executive Team gathered for a “sledgehammer ceremony” to officially begin construction and to say goodbye to parts of Bethany that meant so much to so many. Learn more about Crescent Crossing and watch the video here.

The $42 million Crescent Crossing building designed by c.c. hodgson Architectural Group will encompass 90,000 square feet, 74 assisted living suites, plus gathering spaces, a coffee bar, fitness room and movie theater. Yet, we’re expanding the offerings available to all of our campus residents to help them live their lives to the fullest. The goal of the Bethany Village Body and Soul Capital Campaign is to expand our fitness center and also enhance our new gathering space for worship and community events. It’s a unique opportunity for our residents and their families and friends to mark their space in the history of Bethany Village. Watch our video and learn more here.

For the third year in a row, Bethany Village earned a perfect, 5-star rating from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). The CMS rating system is viewed by families, hospitals, insurers and others who interact with long term care facilities. Staff members were praised by senior leadership, including Judy Budi, Vice President of Residential Care for Graceworks Lutheran Services who exclaimed “This is the 3rd deficiency-free survey in a row. Your commitment to faithful caring shines!” Such great news was met with a campus-wide celebratory lunch for everyone. Thanks to the hard work of employees, 2017 was great at Bethany Village!
